How to Install Driver Packaging on Windows OS
Guide on how to properly install a driver packaging on a Windows OS.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Downloaded Universal Printer Driver - click Here for the guide on how to download the universal printer driver from the Download Centre website.
- Installed Universal Printer Driver - click Here for the guide on install the universal printer driver from the Windows OS.
Before the installation begins, make sure to extract the ZIP file for the EXE file to be visible when installing the printer driver.
STEP 1 - Go to DPU folder > Open the DPU file and choose Run as administrator.
STEP 2 - Select Agree.
STEP 3 - Click on the printer icon to select the Universal Printer Driver that has been installed previously, select OK to continue.
Note: need to install the install universal printer driver on the particular pc that running the driver packaging in order to select the printer driver.
STEP 4 - It will contain 5 tab, configure each of the setting in each tab separately.
4a) Printer Tab - Key in the default printer name that will be display on devices and printers after run the driver packaging executable file.
4b) Preferences Tab - Select Copy from this printer to copy the printer setting from the Universal Printer Driver that have been selected.
4c) Driver Tab - To insert a 32-bit Windows driver and 64-bit Window driver respectively by browsing the INF file inside Universal Printer Driver. The 32-bit driver and 64-bit driver
can be obtain at the Universal Printer driver at path Universal printer driver > driver > win_x86 & win_x64 respectively.
4d) Port Tab - To verify the IP Address of the Machine.
4e) Individual Tab - To select whether want to use Individual settings that has been saved on the Universal Printer Driver, example User Authentication/Account track. Once finish,
select OK to close.
STEP 5 - The Driver Packaging is successfully created.
STEP 6 - Click Configuration and click DPU Folder on the menu.
STEP 7 - In Individual Folder Path, specify the path to the location to save the install package to by select Browse, then click OK.
STEP 8 - Click File, select Save. Key in the install package name that want to, click the save again to save the install package on desired location.
STEP 9 - Once the install package has been saved, can move this install package to thumbdrive for other PC for installation by just running the execPkg file to install Universal Printer Driver automatically.
