How to setup Scan to SMB on MAC PC

Guide on how to setup scan to SMB from the Konica Minolta machine to a MAC PC/Laptop.

STEP 1 - Create a folder and sharing a folder on MAC OS PC/Laptop:

  1. Create a folder on Desktop, named it as KM_SCAN.

  1. Share the folder on MAC OS Setting..
    • Click on Apple icon, select System Preferences.

  • Select Sharing and tick File Sharing to enabled File Sharing for folder.

  • Add the folder KM_SCAN into the list allow permission for Read/Write. Also note down the info for smb://10.0.2.15, will be use later. Please be advise that this is just an example and the MAC PC should have a different SMB IP Address.

  1. Click on the Option Tab, tick Share files and folders using SMB, Tic the account name below mac, this name will be use later as for creating SMB on website, after all click Done to save the setting.

 

STEP 2 - Add the SMB details on the Konica Minolta machine Address Book:

  1. Find the machine IP Address by refer here. Next Open the Safari Browser and type in Konica Minolta machine IP Address. Then proceed to Store Address Tab.

  1. Select New registration.

  1. Select SMB from Search from function, then key in info below accordingly. Click OK after finish to save the setting and you will able to scan under SMB to PC/Laptop.
  • Name: PC A (Name that shown on machine later when scan)
  • Index: First character that on the Name above, in this case will be PQRS.
  • Main: Tick (in order to show on favourite tab)
  • Host Address (Please check to enter host name): Tick
  • Host Address: IP Address MAC PC (Can refer to the screenshot above that showing smb://10.0.2.15 on file sharing, remove the smb:// and only put the ip address)
  • File Path: KM_SCAN
  • User ID: mac (Our macbook username, can refer to the screenshot that showing account name)
  • Password: xxxx (macbook pc password)
